Why do I feel more like a drag queen than a woman? What makes me force all my boyfriends to dress in drag and quote from A Star is Born (the 1954 restored version with Judy Garland, not that Barbra crap)?

What compels me to wear a wig, glitter lipstick, and 6 inch heels on Martha's Vineyard? Why must I always be glamorous?

This isn't a recent obsession: at 12, most girls lusted after Tom Cruise. My first sexual fantasy? Tim Curry dressed in drag in the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Hey, at least I wasn't lusting after him in Clue!

In high school everyone wore jeans. My favorite outfit: a silver lame halter top with a matching lace crinoline. I even had a drag queen entertain at my Batmitzvah! It was the most glamorous celebration of my entire Hebrew School!

Every queen I had ever seen looked better than I did: they were prettier, funnier, and ultimately more feminine than I thought I could ever be. So at an early age I set out to be as glamorous, as fierce, as gorgeous as they were!
